Dr. Chris Phillippi

Dr. Chris Phillippi is a board certified physician of Asian Medicine. He has over 15 years of professional experience helping people attain vital health and happiness. He deeply cares for each and every one of his patients. He listens intently to their concerns and taps into his extensive wellspring of knowledge to design custom treatments to fit their unique conditions. He specializes in Somatic Neuromodulation, a form of therapy that releases the emotional blockages that create chronic physical pathologies and stress responses in the body.

Passionate about the integration of traditional functional medicine with biomedicine, Dr. Phillippi believes that traditional medicines are made stronger when combined with scientific research, modern diagnostic techniques, and technology. Dr. Phillippi has a highly refined style of needling that most patients find to be completely painless. His practice of herbal and nutritional medicine comes from over a decade of apprenticeship, training, and schooling.

Growing up, from a young age he learned hands-on therapeutic modalities and athletic training techniques from his Mom who was a competitive tennis player and healer. Dr. Phillippi has been actively involved in body and health consciousness for his entire life. His innate understanding of the body was honed at an early age as a competitive gymnast and developed further as he became an all-state distance runner, elite rock climber, surfer and free diver.

Dr Phillippi has a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the world class Pacific College of Health & Science. In pursuit of a superior education in Asian medicine, he also attended the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii and The Institute of Clinical Acupuncture in Honolulu. He completed a pediatric residency at Rady's Children's Hospital, and an Orthopedic Sports Medicine residency at UCSD.
